Most buffering comes from the internet connection, not the box. Work through these steps in order, and test after each one.
1. Restart everything
- Restart your vSeeBox.
- Unplug your modem and router, wait 30 seconds, then plug them back in.
- Once the internet light is back, try again.
2. Check your internet speed
Open the Fast speed-test app on the vSeeBox home screen.
- 8 Mbps is the minimum for smooth streaming.
- 15 Mbps or more is recommended for high-quality video.
- If several people stream at once, you need more. Ask your internet provider about a faster plan.
3. Check your Wi-Fi
Go to Settings → Network:
- Connected means you’re online.
- Remembered means the password is wrong. Select the network, choose Forget, and connect again.
- Weak signal icon? Move the box or the router closer together. Walls and furniture weaken Wi-Fi.
- Make sure IP settings are set to DHCP.
- Disconnect other devices that are using Wi-Fi but don’t need it right now.
4. Use Ethernet if you can
A wired Ethernet connection is the most reliable fix for buffering.
- Plug the cable firmly into both the vSeeBox and the router.
- In Settings → Network, it should show Connected with an IP address.
- Turn off Wi-Fi on the box while you use Ethernet.
5. While watching
- If a video stalls, pause for about 15 seconds to let it buffer, then press play.
- Lower the picture quality setting if your connection is slow.
6. Using a VPN?
A VPN can slow your connection. Turn it off to see if that helps, or try a different VPN server, and run the speed test again.
7. Still having trouble?
- Test with a different network, such as your phone’s hotspot. If that works, the problem is your home network.
- Older routers can struggle. A Wi-Fi 6 router pairs well with all V6 models.
